Session Initiation Protocol Activity Group
The IMTC Session Initiation Protocol Activity Group (SIP AG) provides
a forum for IMTC member companies to cooperate and pool resources on
Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) issues of common interest. The SIP
AG focuses on multimedia telecommunications applications including conferencing,
video, multipoint, etc., more than pure VoIP telephony, (although, interoperation
with VoIP is within the scope).
What We Do
The main activities of the group are
- Organize interoperability SIP test efforts (both virtual and face-to-face).
This would be done in cooperation & coordination with both the Conferencing
Interoperability AG and with SIPit (where practical).
- Provide a forum for members to agree on feature/protocol profiles
for SIP applications as needed.
- Educate members on most recent developments in SIP standards and
market evolution.
Liaisons
The IMTC collaborates and has liaison relationships with several standards development organizations.
