SAN RAMON, Calif., April 6, 2004 - The International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium (IMTC) is holding its annual Forum at Sony Electronics in San Jose from May 18 to May 20. This year's Forum will provide an opportunity to take stock of the latest and future developments in the fast-evolving sector of telecommunications. More than 100 key experts and decision-makers in multimedia telecommunications are expected to attend the conference and discuss "The Next Frontier in Multimedia Communications."

According to Dr. Istvan Sebestyen, President of IMTC, "Market indicators suggest broad acceptance of multimedia technologies, based on the increasing availability of broadband connections. We currently witness a significant rise of sales of multimedia products and services both in the business and the private sector. Most important, however, is the impact that multimedia communications is having in the academic world. More and more universities are making use of these powerful tools in their day-to-day scientific work."

The three-day forum will look at the future of such technologies as multimedia by SIP and H.323, and making multimedia mobile. It will provide an opportunity to grasp the fundamentals of how IMTC is impacting industry developments, providing a technology update and market positioning.
