San Ramon, Calif., June 30, 2004 - IMTC, the International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium, has announced that this year's SuperOp! will take place in Lillestrom near the Norwegian capital Oslo, where it will be hosted by TANDBERG from September 10-14, 2004. As every year, SuperOp! will be the major multivendor, multiprotocol, and multitransport interoperability testing event where the multimedia telecommunications community has the opportunity to check the compatibility of new products in an almost "real world" environment with systems from different vendors. Participants in the IMTC SuperOp! represent leading organizations, including not only producers of equipment but also protocol stack vendors, network infrastructure, and multimedia and voice endpoint producers.

The IMTC SuperOp! is the most important testing event of the year for organizations active in multimedia telecommunications, providing a unique testing environment for new equipment and ideas, an environment no single vendor would be able to set up economically on its own due to the huge diversity of equipment, protocols and vendors. SuperOp! 2004 will allow producers of multimedia conferencing and telephony products to test the interoperability of current and future equipment in a mixed environment offering Internet, intranet, digital and analog networks.

In addition to the protocols and technologies tested every year, this year the IMTC SuperOp! plans to utilize 3G networks to test its 3G-324M and Packet Switched Streaming (PSS) products. All testing at the IMTC SuperOp! 2004 will be organized by the IMTC Activity Groups and will contain interoperability and interworking tests between IP networks and switched-circuit networks. As in previous years, the last day of the IMTC SuperOp! will be dedicated to building a superconnection of the components present, all being joined in one single conference. All testing results are being carefully monitored and documented and will be presented to SuperOp! participants for further investigation.
