2005 IMTC Forum to Focus on Role of
Multimedia Communications in Next Generation Networks

– November 16, 2004- The International Multimedia
Telecommunications Consortium (IMTC) today announced that the
2005 IMTC Forum will take place in Eibsee , Germany , from May
10-12 . At the annual event t echnology executives from the
world's leading communications companies, spanning Europe ,
Asia and the Americas , meet to explore the latest developments,
trends, and upcoming technologies for rich media communications.
This will mark the 11 th year for the IMTC Forum. The theme
of this year’s event is "The Future of Next Generation
Networks: Convergence of VoIP, Videoconferencing and Mobile
".
"Next Generations Networks, or NGN for short,
is the next big thing in communications - with multimedia communication
as its key application. In the Next Generations Network we see
the emergence of multimedia applications and services that seamlessly
span fixed and mobile networks- bringing together voice, video,
and data communication and services in one seamless experience,”
said Dr. Istvan Sebestyen, President of IMTC and Chief Engineer,
Director Multimedia and Applications Standards, Siemens AG,
Germany . “The IMTC Forum in Germany will be an unique opportunity
to network with other vendors, learn of emerging trends and

take advantage of new prospects offered by NGN in the multimedia

Logistics and Registration
The Eibsee Hotel is the host hotel for both Forum sessions and
interoperability demonstrations. The three-day IMTC Forum
will start on the morning of Tuesday, May 10, and adjourn midday
on May 12. Discussions will focus on mobile technologies,
Next Generation Networks (NGN), i nnovative multimedia applications
and services, security and emerging standards. Individuals

Companies interested in sponsorships and presentation opportunities

The IMTC is currently accepting presentation proposals
through January 21, 2005 . The Forum is intended to be a highly
interactive event, with ample opportunity for Q&A. Presentation
slots are typically 30 minutes, with 20 minutes allocated for
presentation and 10 minutes for Q&A. Contributions as a
presenter not only reach those in attendance at the Forum, but
also are made available following the event to organizations
around the world.
